Max cashout: the ceiling on a no deposit bonus

Max cashout, max withdrawal, max redemption: the clause that sets the most a free bonus can ever pay you, however much the balance shows. Here's where it sits in the terms of two RTG casinos that take Australians, how it's applied, and how it interacts with the withdrawal minimum.

Where the clause lives

Both sets of terms put it in the promotions section, not next to the bonus. Ozwin: “5x the bonus amount unless otherwise specified”, plus a separate ceiling of “$180 AUD (unless stated otherwise)” on free-money promotions [1]. Uptown Pokies: “maximum cash out of 5x the bonus given”, with free-money capped at “$180.00 USD” [3]. A promotion’s own page can set a different number, which is what “unless otherwise specified” means; when it doesn’t, the 5× rule applies.

Note the currency. Ozwin writes its ceiling in Australian dollars; Uptown Pokies in US dollars, on a site that shows plain dollar signs to Australian visitors. Which currency your account runs in decides what the cap is worth.

How it’s applied

The cap is enforced when you ask for the money, not while you play. The balance can climb to $140 during the wagering; when you request the payout the cashier pays $50 and removes the rest. That’s why a big feature win on a free bonus is less exciting than it looks: the vault bonus on Cash Bandits can multiply a spin many times over, and 5× the chip is still the ceiling.

The cap against the withdrawal minimum

This is the clause people miss. Ozwin’s banking page lists a $100 minimum for withdrawals by bank transfer, Bitcoin and eZeeWallet, processed in 2 business days, with a $50 fee on the bank transfer [2]. A $10 chip caps at $50, so a cleared bonus at Ozwin sits at half the minimum and can’t be paid out on its own. Uptown Pokies’ banking page wasn’t readable from our connection; its minimum goes in this table when it is.

What to do with the number

Treat the cap as the value of the bonus. A “$10 free chip” at 5× is a $50 opportunity that costs you about $24 in expected loss on the wagering; a “$25 chip” is a $125 one. Then check the minimum. If the cap clears it, plan the run for the cap: stop when the bar fills, request the payout, and don’t keep playing a balance that will be trimmed anyway. The cash-out page covers the ID step that comes next.

For

  • The cap is a fixed number in the terms, so the most a bonus can be worth is known before the first spin.
  • A cap of 5× is still five times the chip: a real, if small, result if the wagering is cleared.

Against

  • Anything above the cap is removed at the cashier, including a big feature win landed fairly.
  • A $50 cap can sit below the $100 withdrawal minimum, which makes the bonus uncashable on its own.
  • The cap for free spins is often written in dollars rather than as a multiple, and the offer banner may not show it.

My verdict

Before you take a free bonus, find two numbers: the cap and the withdrawal minimum. If the cap is under the minimum, as a $10 chip at 5× is at Ozwin, the bonus can't be cashed out by itself and only makes sense as a trial of the games. If the cap clears the minimum, the bonus is worth exactly the cap and no more; plan the run for that number and stop when the bar fills.

Questions people ask

What does max cashout mean on a no deposit bonus?

The most you can withdraw from that bonus. Ozwin and Uptown Pokies set it at 5× the bonus: a $10 chip can pay $50, a $25 chip $125. The balance above the cap is removed when you withdraw.

When is the cap applied?

At withdrawal. You can hold a balance above the cap while wagering; the excess disappears when the payout is processed. Any deposit you make afterwards is separate money and isn't capped.

Is the cap the same for free spins?

Often it's a dollar figure rather than a multiple, because spins don't have a face value the way a chip does. Read the promotion's own page; if it only says "T&Cs apply", the general terms' 5× rule is the fallback, and "the bonus" then means the value the casino assigns to the spins.

What if the cap is below the withdrawal minimum?

Then the bonus can't be cashed out on its own. At Ozwin the minimum withdrawal is $100 and a $10 chip caps at $50. You'd need a deposit and further play to reach a withdrawable balance, at which point the bonus isn't the point any more.

Does the cap apply to deposit bonuses too?

Usually not, or at a much higher level. The 5× rule in both sets of terms is written for no deposit credits and free-money promotions.
